Jeffrey Sanchez, PE, PTOE

Traffic Expert Witness is led by Jeff Sanchez, a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and nationally certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) with over 20 years of experience in roadway design, highway construction and maintenance, traffic engineering and forensic investigations.

Jeff’s experience includes serving as a Traffic Engineer, Engineering Design Manager and Maintenance Engineer for the New Mexico Department of Transportation, as well as working as a Project Engineer and Project Manager for highway construction and utility contractors.

This combination of agency and contractor experience gives Jeff a detailed understanding of how roadways and work zones are designed, constructed and maintained in practice. It also enables him to assess the respective responsibilities of government agencies, engineers, contractors and subcontractors against applicable plans, specifications and industry standards.

Today, Jeff specialises in forensic evaluations involving Roadway Design and Work Zone Traffic Control, helping attorneys understand whether the roadway or traffic control conditions at the time of a collision were consistent with the applicable requirements and standards.

His evaluations are grounded in the available evidence and presented in clear, defensible terms, providing attorneys with engineering opinions that can be used throughout litigation, including expert reports, depositions and trial.
